Warren County Community Services (WCCS) is Growing
Non-Profit is Expanding to Meet Increasing Meals on Wheels™ Needs
Middletown, Ohio, August 10, 2017: Warren County’s largest 501(c)3 non-profit has just completed construction of its new Meals on Wheels™ Commissary. The facility is located at 6141 Market Avenue near the Premier Health’s Atrium Medical Center, which is the naming sponsor of the facility. Warren County Community Services purchased the property in 2016 and has repurposed the building to meet growing senior nutrition needs in Butler and Warren counties.
Warren County Community Services delivered 275,000 meals in 2015, and 375,000 meals in 2016, outgrowing the former production kitchen. Prior to opening on Market Avenue in Middletown, the Meals on Wheels™ commissary was operating in the basement of a 100-year- old schoolhouse at the headquarters of WCCS outside of Lebanon, Ohio.
“We serve all of Warren County and Trenton and Middletown in Butler County,” said Eugene Rose, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Warren County Community Services. “The move to a central location in Middletown strategically makes sense and provides a state-of- the-art kitchen, custom healthy meal organization and a transportation depot to meet current needs and allow future growth.”
WCCS provides freshly prepared meals weekdays and fresh chilled meals for weekends, a “rarity among most Meals on Wheels™ providers” said Rose. WCCS’ meals are amongst the highest rated in southwestern Ohio as graded in blind taste tests among southwestern Ohio area seniors.
Project Financing was coordinated with the help of the Warren County Economic Development Board and Warren County Treasurer’s office. Premier Health/Atrium Medical Center is the naming sponsor of the facility.

“Premier/Atrium is part of the ‘Fabric of the Community’,” Rose said. “None of the programs we provide are possible without leadership sponsors such as they.”
An Open House is planned at the Meals on Wheels™ Commissary, 6141 Market Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45005, on August 16 th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, with a Ribbon Cutting planned at 5:30 PM.

- 319,264 meals for homebound seniors and five dining centers, of which 295,136 meals were delivered by Meals on Wheels™ serving approximately 1,000 clients per day.
