HealthSource of Ohio is excited to partner with Felicity-Franklin Local Schools for a new School Based Health Center, scheduled to open Monday, November 14, 2022.
The Center will provide expanded quality health care to the community, students, and school staff. The health center will be housed inside the Elementary School, with a separate secured entrance for the public. HealthSource of Ohio Felicity will be open year-round, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
“As HealthSource of Ohio looks for ways to improve health in local communities, we felt it was a natural fit to provide medical care within the Felicity community, not only for the students, staff, but for all community members. Felicity-Franklin has proven to be a great partner as we have provided mobile dental care the last couple of years and will be rolling out a new state of the art tele-health model at this center” stated Kim Patton, President and CEO.
The advantage of having a school-based health center is that students can be seen by a HealthSource team member the same day. They don’t miss as much class time and parents don’t need to leave work to take their child to the doctor. Parents/guardians will need to complete a permission packet to be seen at the school-based health center.
This will not replace a child’s primary care physician if care is already established. HealthSource of Ohio will work in conjunction with the existing clinician.
Dave Gibson, Felicity-Franklin Superintendent stated “I want to thank Kristin Baird and Tiffany Peron for their tireless work to bring this great opportunity to our school and our community. Thank you to HealthSource of Ohio for having a mission of service and the desire to bring quality health care to all communities."
HealthSource of Ohio accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and offers a discounted sliding fee for uninsured or under-insured patients. HealthSource Felicity will be accepting new patients and permission forms for students will be sent out soon.
