Rachel A Hutzel Observatory Construction Update

Construction on the Rachel A Hutzel Observatory being built at Camp Joy began the week of July 15. The temporary construction entrance, site grade work is done, foundations dug, framed and poured, parking lot graded and graveled. The structural steel is set in place and they are just waiting for the WCCC construction trades to get to work as soon as school starts. The granite has been ordered for the outside walls and the telescope's pedestal.

This dream would not have become a reality without generous donations from so many.

In addition The Rachel A Hutzel Observatory Fund has been established at the Warren County Foundation.

The Families of Rachel A Hutzel and D. Jeff Blazey, The Area Progress Council of Warren County, Camp Joy, WCAS, WCCC and the Pave the Milky Way Planning Committee are very grateful and would like to Thank all who have contributed their money, talent and time to this project.
