Registration open for Countryside YMCA Indoor Triathlon

COUNTRYSIDE YMCA ANNUAL INDOOR TRIATHLON
Come run, bike and swim in Countryside YMCA’s annual Indoor Triathlon.
Lebanon, Ohio – Countryside YMCA has announced the date for their annual indoor triathlon. The indoor triathlon will take place on January 16, 2021 from 6pm-10pm, at Countryside YMCA in Lebanon. Participants ages 16 and up are welcome. Cost to participate is $35 until January 15, race day registration is $45. All registrations include a goody bag with t-shirt and swim cap. This indoor race can help new triathletes gain confidence and it is also challenging for someone who regularly exercises.
The Countryside YMCA Indoor Triathlon will be held in the indoor 8 lane competition pool, the cycling portion will be held in the Spin Studio and all running will be done on treadmills in the Cardio Strength Center. For this indoor triathlon, all events are based on time and all participants will swim for 10 minutes, bike for 20 minutes, and run for 15 mins.
Running an indoor triathlon helps athletes who wish to keep up their training over the winter, as well as encourage new athletes to try a triathlon if they haven’t done one before. “The great thing about a winter indoor Tri is that it encourages people who do triathlons to keep in shape in all three events year around,” said Earl Edmonds, participant and athlete who has completed 59 triathlons over the years.
Many events have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Countryside YMCA is working to make the necessary precautions to run a safe indoor triathlon. Check-in times will be staggered, and increased cleaning of equipment will happen between heats.
For more information including the registration form, check the Y’s website www.countrysideymca.org or contact Nate Brestelli at nate.brestelli@ymcastaff or call the Y at 513 932 1424.
