Warren County Career Center is hosting its second annual Community Day on Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is something for everyone at this fun and free family event, including a “Truck Touch,” with bulldozers, utility truck, fire truck and a helicopter on display, free mini-manicures and hand/arm massages, cat and dog nail clipping and ear cleaning, appliance disposal including Freon disposal, computer basics, resume and interview skill assistance, help with filling out the FAFSA, children’s activities in the Media Center, minor furniture repair and household electrical questions answered, nutrition information and much more.
See FRESH the Movie at 11 a.m. and learn where your food comes from and how to support local farmers. Bring a white plain T-shirt and a $3 donation for the Chardon High School families for an exclusive design by one of our Graphic Arts students. The annual Landscape Plant Sale will be going on that day, also, with hundreds of annuals, perennials, and even some vegetable plants. Support your community by donating blood at the Hoxworth mobile clinic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., located onsite. Learn about financial and retirement planning with sessions at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
